Edition 37 Holy Week. Week beginning 29th March 2021

Attending Worship in Holy Week and Easter I am glad that some people have registered to attend worship in church on Palm Sunday and on Easter Day. Please use the contact numbers now if you haven’t yet booked  a seat and would like to do so :  It is still important to book a place if you wish to attend either church in person.

In addition to worship in church, as listed here are also some other things which are  available so we do hope you will join in the programme as you can.

Monday 29th A reflection for Holy week by Revd Jos Perris, Associate priest based at Holy Trinity. (you can watch this at 7.30pm or earlier in the day as it will be available via a link to be found in St Mary’s online calendar)

Tuesday 30th. The second of Revd. Jos Perris’ reflections, which will also be featured in the healing Eucharist from All Saints will also be available via a link to be found in St Mary’s online calendar

Weds 30th Stations of the Cross led by Dr Bob Day from St Benedict’s, and on zoom, 7.30pm.

Thursday 1st April 11am Chrism Eucharist  for Maundy Thursday from St Albans cathedral (no Morning Prayer nor Bible study that day, nor 8th April)

(n.b. the open church day at St Mary’s will be curtailed at 12.30, to allow for the funeral of Councillor Graham Sutton. The Foodbank will remain open in the porch.

7.30pm  Eucharist for Maundy Thursday, with reflection by Revd. Richard Howlett

Good Friday 1130am  Family Stations service online , led by members of St Mary’s. An Easter Garden service suitable for families with younger children led by Richard and Katherine will also  be available on You Tube so can be accessed throughout the day or afterwards.

 2-3pm An hour with the cross- at St Benedict’s, led by Dr Bob Day

2pm at St Mary’s, led by Revd Richard Howlett

Easter Sunday 10am Easter Eucharist with Revd Jos Perris at St Benedict’s

10am Easter Eucharist at St Mary’s with Revd Richard Howlett, followed by  Easter Egg hunt at 1130 until 130 approximately. (Please see separate flyer from Helen and Gemma)

I shall be taking a few days leave from Easter Monday until Friday 9th, inclusive.
